TAXI

In Dubai, a wide range of taxis are available. You can book a taxi from anywhere, and it will pick you up from your current location and drop you off at your destination. The minimum charge starts at 12 AED. You can pre-schedule your ride with the help of platforms like Uber and Careem, which are widely used for taxi bookings. The cars are very comfortable and safe, with multiple cameras installed in each taxi. Different types of cars are available, and you can book one according to your requirements. If you want to book a Tesla, that option is also available.

Metro

On average, more than 700,000 people use the metro daily for transportation. The major benefit is that it is affordable, with a frequency of trains ranging from one minute to a maximum of four minutes. The mode of payment is the NOL card. The cost of one NOL card is 25 AED, which comes with 20 AED credit. The minimum fare starts at 3 AED and goes up to 7.50 AED for one trip. The metro is linked to major areas in Dubai, and people use it daily for office transportation. Passes ranging from one day to one month are available. It is a safe, comfortable, and fast mode of transportation with no traffic delays. The metro consists of four zones and two lines (Red and Green).

Tram

The tram is the most relaxing type of transport. This service is easily accessible from DMCC and Sobha Realty metro stations, and it covers JBR, Marina, Media City, Palm Jumeirah, Knowledge Village, and Al Sufouh. Payment is made using the NOL card. It offers a wonderful experience, allowing you to enjoy beautiful city views.

Bus on Demand

There is a separate app called “Bus on Demand” that makes it easy to book a ride. Once booked, the driver will arrive within the scheduled time. Payment can be made using a NOL card. If you have only one card but multiple people for the ride, they charge only 5 AED per person. There is no minimum or maximum distance; 5 AED is a fixed charge regardless of the distance. However, this service is limited to Barsha and Silicon Oasis, so transportation is only available within these areas.

RTA Bus

RTA buses are another mode of transportation. Each bus is numbered, and respective bus numbers go to specific areas. RTA buses are available in major parts of the city, and payment is made via NOL card.

A full trip, within two hours, costs only 7.50 AED. Transportation in Dubai is affordable and safe, and most major attractions are directly connected to public transportation. During the winter season, some destinations even offer free transportation.
