Dubai’s beaches are among the cleanest and safest in the world. Residents prefer beach outings on weekends for relaxation and get-togethers. Each beach in Dubai has a unique character.
Jumeirah Beach
Jumeirah Beach is a man-made shoreline located a short drive from downtown Dubai. This is the best place for families and couples, and it’s a favorite destination for photoshoots. The water is very calm because it is protected by an island, making it safe for young children and beginners to swim. You can enjoy and explore water activities like riding jet skis and banana boats. There are many restaurants and cafés, so it’s easy to find a place to eat while enjoying the beautiful beach view. The beach is about 500 meters long and can get crowded on weekends. There are no changing rooms available, but you can rent sun loungers if you wish.
Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach, also called Umm Suqeim Beach, is a great place to visit in the late afternoon to watch the sunset over the Arabian Gulf. The sky changes colors as the sun goes down, creating a beautiful sight. You can enjoy the different colors of the sky in the last moments of the day. There’s a small community library where you can donate or borrow books, but there are not many other facilities, making it a calm and quiet spot. You can take a peaceful walk along the wide beach or go for a run on the paved path along the shore. This place is a favorite spot for couples and singles who want to spend relaxing evenings; it’s the perfect beach for that.

JBR Beach
If you’re using public transport, the DMCC Metro Station is just a short walk from the beach. JBR Beach is close to many of Dubai’s top attractions, like the Marina and Dubai Marina Mall, making it very convenient to visit. However, the beach’s popularity means it can get very crowded. If you want a good spot or a sun lounger, it’s best to arrive early in the morning. Kids will have a great time here with fairground rides, playgrounds, and a floating inflatable obstacle course near the shore. This place is crowded, with many hotels surrounding the beach, making it easily accessible to the public.
Kite Beach
Kite Beach is the best place in Dubai to try kite surfing. When the wind is good, you’ll see many people out on their boards. If you want to learn but have never tried it before, there’s a kitesurfing school that offers beginner classes. If that seems like too much work, you can just relax on the sand and enjoy the sun. Another reason people visit Kite Beach is for the wide variety of tasty food at great prices. You’ll find many options, especially from popular Western brands. The idea is to grab a quick meal and enjoy it on the beach. There are separate running and cycling tracks available. If you want to ride a bike, you can book one through Careem.
Al Sufouh Black Palace Beach
Al Sufouh Black Palace Beach is located near royal palaces and is also known as Secret Beach or Palace Beach. You can reach the beach by a narrow path that runs between two palace grounds. Even though it feels private, it is open to the public and free to access. The beach has soft, golden sand, but there are no facilities available. If you plan to spend the day, it’s a good idea to bring your own drinks and snacks. You can enjoy beautiful sunsets here, along with views of the Burj Al Arab. Early morning fishing is allowed, and the beach offers a different feel in the morning and evening. In the evening, the beautiful shadows of the light are visible on the water, creating a spectacular view.
